Softball

Team Jacob and I joined a co-ed softball team, our games are on Sunday evenings. We are having a great time although we have not won a game yet. It is a new team so we are still trying to figure out everyone strengths and weakness. I haven't played this game since Jr High I think maybe even younger. I was told by my son that I throw the ball like a girl so Skater Boy showed me how to throw. I can catch the ball pretty good but batting is something else I really need to work on. I guess I should be spending more time at the batting cages. Maybe not.

A Teenagers Mind is A Terrible Thing

On the way to church this morning my Husband tells me about a conversation between him and Skater Boy. They where at a customers house on Friday installing a new banister. Skater Boy was having a hard time getting the pole in the holes so my husband says to him is your rod a little stiff. Well my son lost it.

As you can see we need to be more careful about the things we say and how we say them in my house.

I remembered another one. I was vaccuming the stairs after Christmas the garland had left a HUGE mess.

Mom: Skater Boy can you take the vacuum cleaner canister and dump it in the trash can and then bang it on the side of the trash can.

Skater Boy: What do you want me to do?

Mom: Dump it in the trash and then bang it on the side.

Skater Boy: What do you want me to do? HEHE

Mom: (in a not so nice voice because I don't get it) Dump it in the trash and then bang it on the side!!!!

Skater Boy: My Mom wants me to bang it. (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) As he is walking away.

Who would have thought that chores could be dirty. HAHAHAHAHA

Things you should think twice about saying before you say it around teenagers....

In the car with my Girls pulling up to the drive-thru at Sonic, Christmas time and there was a present on the rocks getting wet from the rain outside.

Me: The package is getting wet.
My Girls: That so gross mom.

My DS she tells her boys that she likes a lot of nuts on her balls(cheese balls).

Kids are all the balls in the car!

As I remember some of the others I will share them.

Family Traditions

For as long as I can remember my Grandma Hunter has always made me something for Christmas. As an adult I now realize how truely special her gifts were, even though I wasn't always so greatful for them. As a kid her gifts weren't exactly what I wanted or expected- For instance, one year my sister and I wanted some Jordache Jeans, but instead recieved homemade jeans instead (but who could tell the difference right?). Unfortunately, this year is my first Christmas without her, and my first Christmas without my homemade gift. Through this holiday season I have realized though that even though my Grandma is gone, there is one gift from her that is still here. My Grandma gave the gift of a Family tradition to our family. Each year our family exchanges a homemade ornament, and now we do so in rememberance of our late Grandma. Here are a few of our ornaments that have been exchanged over the years;

Picture Day at the Park

Here are some pictures that my WONDERFUL COUSINS to last week for us. They did a great job and the pictures turned out so beautiful. I want to share some of the humorous ones though because it was like watching a three ring circus, trying to get everyone to look at the cameras and not each other. Do you think my girls love the camera!
