Family Traditions

For as long as I can remember my Grandma Hunter has always made me something for Christmas. As an adult I now realize how truely special her gifts were, even though I wasn't always so greatful for them. As a kid her gifts weren't exactly what I wanted or expected- For instance, one year my sister and I wanted some Jordache Jeans, but instead recieved homemade jeans instead (but who could tell the difference right?). Unfortunately, this year is my first Christmas without her, and my first Christmas without my homemade gift. Through this holiday season I have realized though that even though my Grandma is gone, there is one gift from her that is still here. My Grandma gave the gift of a Family tradition to our family. Each year our family exchanges a homemade ornament, and now we do so in rememberance of our late Grandma. Here are a few of our ornaments that have been exchanged over the years;

Picture Day at the Park

Here are some pictures that my WONDERFUL COUSINS to last week for us. They did a great job and the pictures turned out so beautiful. I want to share some of the humorous ones though because it was like watching a three ring circus, trying to get everyone to look at the cameras and not each other. Do you think my girls love the camera!

What color is your throw up?

My daughter (Team Jacob) has been sick for the past three days, she was in the bathroom throwing up and my nephew was in the hallway waiting on her to come out this was their conversation,

Nephew- did you throw up?
Team Jacob- yes
Nephew- what color was it?
Team Jacob- orange
Nephew- cool!!!!

My Nephew is four years old. It's not cool the color of her throw up it is gross. I thought it was funny though, what a boy. Sorry if you just ate or have a weak stomach.

In my earlier post I mentioned the family was going to the Phoenix Zoo for my Husbands birthday. The 11th of November is a great birthday to have though, because my husband has never had to go to school on his birthday. Then, even if it fell on a Saturday or Sunday he was lucky enough to get the following Monday off! My husband's poor mother though- she had my DH on the 11th and then his younger brother on the 13th of November. (Not to mention she also has a Grandson on the 15th!) Alright enough about my Husbands Family- here are some more pictures my daughters took. They are both extremely camera happy and enjoy taking many pictures (usually of themselves).

Tuesday the 11th of November was my DH birthday. The kids where out of school so we decided to go to the Phoenix Zoo. (along with half of Arizona) Meet my boys, Skater Boy and Extra Small. Skater Boy is 14 and loves to skate board. Extra Small is 5 and is our fun loving kindergarter, who informed us that he was sneaking downstairs to catch Santa Claus this year.

These are my beautiful girls Team Jacob and The Princess. Team Jacob is 17 and is a senior this year(can you tell what her favorite book is). The Princess is 16. She is not called The Princess because she is a brat but because she is very focused on what she wants.

Okay I finally decide to make my on blog, after lurking on everyone else and seeing your cute families I thought it would be fun to share my family with you. Of course my family is not the same as it was a year ago. We now share a house with my husband's side of the family to save money as our new business grows. So as I vent about my family and how crazy my house is, you will understand. Of course there are pros and cons to having 12 people in one house. One plus is house work I don't have to do all of it. (you would think I would find time to read......not) More to come and some pictures to.
