Hunting for Eggs

While we were eating Thanksgiving dinner one of our hens was quit vocal about needing to lay an egg, and she did right there in the front yard in front of some of our dinner guest. Then another hen started to make nosies that she too needed to lay an egg(they do have a hen house to lay in) so we looked around the bougainvillea and couldn't find any eggs.(picture below of the bougainvillea) The next day Eli comes running in the house, "come see," he says, "come see what I found!" So I go out side and sure enough I see 4 more eggs under the bougainvillea. As I try to push back the bougainvillea to get the eggs we discover a whole nest of eggs. Those crazy hens!

What happens when you leave your camera on the table

My mother only told her side of the story about our day trip to the Grand Canyon, this is my side of the story. This is what you find on the camera after you get home and show your husband the pictures YOU took not your MOM of the Grand Canyon. My husband says to me "I don't want to see what you ate" and so this is what happens when you leave your camera on the table to talk on the phone to your daughter who got off on the wrong bus stop while getting the car so you don't have to ride the crowded bus (thank you dear daughter and friend)and did I mention it was all my fault. It was all new to me where to park at and ride the bus. We all did get on the bus together so why could they not notice they got off at the wrong stop(still my fault). This is what happens when you leave the camera on the table to help your daughter who is lost at the Grand Canyon (which was all my fault) so they had to walk up hill on the side of the road not knowing if they going in the right direction(still my fault) till they found the correct
stop (still my fault)by this time we were tired of waiting for them so we decide to eat and this is what happens when you leave the camera on the table to talk to your daughter who is lost at the Grand Canyon (still my fault)

If you haven't been to the Grand Canyon in awhile they have squirrels that are not afraid of you and they are hungry they want food we didn't have any food so one of them was following us they are fast and sneaky. They like to hide and jump out at you it is really funny to watch especially when your sister screams.

Indian Ruins

We are in Flagstaff dropping off Logann getting her room set up, and buying and more buying (I'm tried of shopping).

We came up on Thursday pulling a trailer She has a lot of stuff, moved her in and then on Friday got the computer and lap top hooked up as well as the TV. Her room is so tiny and hot, she is on the 7Th floor so move in day was fun. I went down the stairs never up Eli begged to go up, though he thought it was a secret way.

Saturday she got a bike (pictures later), went to 2 stores and then back to the first one (I'm really tired of shopping). The pictures of her dorm are at the bottom and her view a Cemetery (there are several on campus) .

After buying the bike we decide to check out some sights in Flagstaff so we headed I-40 to Meteor Crater but got side tracked at Walnut Canyon National Monument. Wow it was amazing!! The Sinagua Indians were cliff dwellers, some of the pictures you can see the smoke all over the rocks and what a view the canyon is beautiful. These pictures are of the Anasazi Indians you can find the ruins on highway 89, north of Flagstaff at Wupatki National Monument. It started to rain so we ran up took a few pictures and ran back to the car before it started to pour down. What a great day just missing one thing Logann as she had to stay back on campus for more orientation.

There is a lot of wind through here

We saw the deer after leaving the visitor center. It was funny because we just hiked the mountain and no wild life. Go figure!!

Update from the Lewis House

I know it has been quite awhile since my last post, so here is the run down of the Lewis'.
I will start with the softball team, we finished the season with no wins. Started the the next season winning the first game (yeah!!) only to lose the rest. I think it was the third game when I hurt my foot and was out for the rest of the season. I went to the doctor and she said I tore my plantar fascia which is the thick connective tissue that supports the arch of the foot, basically the only way to heal it is to be off of it for a week or two. I don't think so! After three very painful days on crutches I was walking around on it. Someday it will heal... for now no running or anything that stretches the arch!

All right what happened next, we celebrated Morgann's birthday, I can't believe she is 17, I remember the day she was born. She had the sweetest bald head.(not anymore in case you wondering) Morgann has changed jobs so no more free McDonald's diet coke. Now it is discount on Cold Stone Creamery.

Okay next on the 21st of May Eli, Seth and Logann graduated from their various grades. First we had our oh so cute kindergartner, next is the 8th grader and lastly was the senior. Eli and Seth's graduation where at the same time so I choose to go to Eli's and my DH went to Seth's. Logann's was later in the evening- the wet rainy evening. Next year when Morgann graduates we hope the skies are clear but not hot. Oh, and my Dad arrived on the same day as the graduation- the very same as both Seth and Eli's graduations! (Timing people!) So the parties are over and the company have all left... now I have a freshmen in college with no job this summer(she quit Sonic) and she is babysitting her little brother and 2 cousins. She has a much needed rest from life. We have freshmen orientation coming up soon. Which is a good excuse for going up north for a few days to get out of the heat. So out of nowhere Seth decide to go out for his new High School baseball team (he hasn't played since he was 8 and even then he was bored out of his mind not to mention that before we found out that he was allergic to wheat he would get horrible tummy aches so at practice one evening he bent over to catch a grounder and messed his pants) anyway he made the summer team (didn't know it was a summer oh so very hot game time 5pm be there at 4pm team) this is a brand new school with a brand new team so it is good to have the summer games that don't count and figure out how to work as a team.

All righty now I think I have brought you all up to speed. I don't know when I will post again or even add pictures to my post I'm entering my busy season at work and the family down the hall is moving out soon so we will be doing a bit of rearranging!
